Hearing On NEET UG In MP High Court Today: Court Had Stopped The Resolution Of 11 Centres, Hearing On NEET PG Normalization Also In SC

NTA will present its reply before Indore Bench of MP High Court today in NEET UG 2025 case. Today, the future of about 27 thousand students of Indore will be decided.

In the last hearing, the result of only 11 centers was withheld

Madhya Pradesh High Court had changed its May 15 decision on Saturday, May 17. The court had said that NEET-UG results can be declared across the country. But the results of 11 centers in Indore will not come yet, because there was a problem of electricity there.

Earlier, the Indore bench of MP High Court had put an interim stay on the result of NEET UG 2025 exam on 15 May. The court said that the result should not be released until the final decision is taken.

On Thursday 15 May, the High Court had asked the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts NEET UG, what steps it was taking in this matter but no satisfactory reply was received from the NTA. The High Court has issued notices to NTA, power company and examination centres. By 30 June, everyone must present a reply.

For the first time, government schools were made centres

This was the first time for NTA when government schools were made exam centers of NEET UG where there was no provision for power backup. In fact, after the controversy regarding NEET UG exam last year i.e. in 2024, government schools were made centers this year. Earlier, private schools and computer labs were made exam centres.

Hearing on NEET PG normalization also today

Petitions related to normalization in NEET PG exam will also be heard in SC today. Earlier, the bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice AI G Masih, while hearing the case, had said that it is related to the 2024 examination. In such a situation, there is no need to hear this now. But the petitioners say that normalization is a big concern among the students even in NEET PG 2025 exam.

The petition was filed in September 2024

Aspirants of the NEET PG 2024 exam had petitioned to increase transparency in the exam in September 2024. The demand of the students was that the examination conducting agency NBEMS should also release the exam paper and answer key of the students. This will help the candidates to assess their results correctly and prepare better.

The second demand of the students was that the exam should be conducted in a single shift. Due to examination in two shifts, the report is issued after normalization which is not fair.

After all, what is normalization

Many times, when the number of candidates applying for an exam increases, the exam is conducted in several shifts. Sometimes the exam lasts for several days.

In such a situation, a separate set of question papers is given to the students in every shift. In such a situation, some students get difficult and some students get easy question paper. Here the question arises that how easy and difficult is decided.

Understand it like this…

In an exam, three sets of question papers – A, B, C were distributed. In this, the average score of students solving different sets will be calibrated.

Suppose the candidates solving set A have an average score of 70 marks. Those in set B score 75 marks and those solving set C average score 80 marks. In such a situation, set C will be considered the easiest and set A the most difficult. Due to normalization of candidates with easy sets, they will have to lose some marks and those with difficult sets will get extra marks.

Apart from this, the students have also opposed conducting the examination in 2 shifts. Students say that due to examination being conducted in one to more shifts, the difficulty level of the corruption paper varies. Due to this, fair evaluation is not possible.
