Being happy is the desire of every human being. But often we connect happiness with something big or a particular place, such as “I will be happy when I get my job” or “I will be happy when I get that thing.” Actually, happiness is not a destination, but a journey. It is hidden in small moments and can be found by molding it in its habits.
1.Understand and accept yourself: Happiness starts with itself. Identify your forces and weaknesses and accept yourself as you are. In an attempt to become someone else, his real happiness is lost. Learn from your mistakes, but do not curse yourself with them. When you love yourself, there is a relaxed and happiness from the inside.
2. Practice gratitude (Gratitude): Every day you are thankful for those things that you have. Wake up in the morning and think what you are grateful to – whether it is your health, family, friend, or roof. Creating a ‘Great Journal’ can also be helpful, where you can write 3-5 things daily for which you are grateful. It turns your mind towards positivity.
3. Strengthen relationships: Human beings are a social creature and good relationships are very important for happiness. Spend quality time with your family and friends. Talk to them, listen to them and make them feel how special they are for you. Strong relationships support in difficult times and make the moments of happiness even more special.
4. Take care of health: “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body.” This is absolutely true. It is very important for mental happiness to take care of your physical health. Take a balanced diet: Nutritious food gives energy to the body and also keeps the mood good.
Exercise regularly: By exercising, endorphins (happiness hormones) are released, which reduces stress and improves mood.
Get enough sleep: Good and complete sleep relaxes the mind and makes you feel refreshed. Lack of sleep can cause irritability and sadness.
5. Learn something new and be creative: When we learn something new or do something creative, we get happiness. This can be a new language learning, doing a new skill (such as playing guitar) or painting. This keeps our brain active, we feel achievement and boredom is removed.
6. Help others: The happiness that is given by helping others cannot be compared to anything else. Whether it is to listen to a friend, help a stranger, or to volunteer for a charity. Seeing happiness on the face of others, we get a relaxed and satisfaction in ourselves.
7. Live currently: Often we either remain lost in the past things or worry about the future. With this, we forget to live the beautiful moments of the present. Practice Mindfulness, that is, pay full attention to whatever work you are doing. Taste the food while eating, feel the air and the surrounding environment while walking. This helps us to be calm and happy.
8. Set small goals and complete them: Large goals inspire us, but it takes time to achieve them. Set small goals and celebrate them to meet them. This will make you feel constant achievement and you will remain positive.
Happiness is not a magical button that can be found immediately. This is a state that can be achieved by changing habits, thinking and lifestyle. It is important to understand that everyone’s life fluctuates, and it is normal to feel depressed. But by adopting these habits, we can increase the moments of happiness in our life and live a satisfactory life. Remember, happiness comes from inside, not from outside.
