Preventive Measures Of  Water Pollution

• Never dump garbage. Always look for a suitable waste basket. If it is not in sight, please take it back home and put it in your garbage can. This also extends to areas such as the beach, the river.
• Do not let the tap flow when you are not using it. Also, you can limit the use of water when bathing and washing. If we all practiced this habit, we would be able to significantly reduce water scarcity and reduce the amount of dirt water that needs to be treated.

• Do not flush chemicals, oils and medication down the sink drain or toilet drain, one of your municipal environmental offices in your city is able to remove medications and chemicals for you.
• Shop for extra eco-friendly cleaning liquids to take home and public areas
• Use chemicals and pesticides on our gardens and farms at your own expense, but take care not to use pesticides and fertilizers.
This will reduce the chemical runoff into the surrounding water bodies. Start exploring options like using compost and organic manure instead
• If you are living close to a body of water, try to plant lots of flowers and trees around your home so that when it rains, the chemicals from your home do not flow easily into the water.

Things you can do to reduce water pollution

• Do not pour fats that were used for cooking or any other type of • household chemicals or cleansers. Most tissues, • wrappers, dust cloths and other paper products should be disposed of in a wastebasket that uses minimal detergent and or • bleach when washing clothes or disposables. • Use phosphate-free soaps and detergents if your home has a basement drain or sump pump, • Use pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers minimally. • Do not pour these chemicals, motor oil, and other automobile fluids into the sanitary sewer system. They both drain into the river • Do not pour into a garbage disposal. • Throw solid waste fats, oils, grease down the drain. Place a fat jar under the sink to trap the fat and dispose of it in the solid waste when done to ensure it does not drain into the sanitary sewer system. • Make a compost pile from vegetable peels

Conclusion

Soil conservation is the very first important solution in this context. Soil erosion can result in water pollution. So, if we keep the soil conserved, water pollution can also be averted. We can adopt activities such as planting more trees, better ways to avert erosion, and agricultural practices more beneficial to the soil. Equally important, we also need to employ appropriate techniques in disposing of toxic waste. Firstly, we can employ products with less volatile organic compounds. Even in cases where toxic products such as paints, detergents and stain removers are being used, they should be disposed of properly. We also need to check oil leaks in our machines and vehicles. Cleaning water bodies and beaches, avoiding using non-biodegradable items such as plastic and taking a more active role in each step towards the prevention of water pollution.
