Effects Of Mobile Gaming: Here Are 5 Major Diseases Caused By Playing Mobile Games

In today’s digital age, mobile gaming is no longer just a means of entertainment but has become a part of many people’s daily routine. Be they children or adults, everyone remains glued to the mobile screen for hours. But did you know that overmobile gambling not only affects your eyes, but it can also cause many serious physical and mental illnesses? Problems like lack of sleep, headaches, stress, and neck and back pain have become common due to continuous playing of games. In this article we will know what diseases can be caused by mobile gaming addiction and how to avoid them.

Effects Of Mobile Gaming

Mobile gaming has become a major means of entertainment today, but its excessive use is having a deep impact on our mental and physical health. Problems like burning eyes, headaches, and loss of vision have become common due to keeping eyes on mobile screens for a long time. Physical diseases such as obesity and back and neck pain are also increasing rapidly due to constant sitting and lack of physical activities.

Mentally, mobile game addiction surrounds a person with problems like stress, irritability, lack of sleep (insomnia), and lack of concentration. Much research has also found that playing excessive games increases the level of “dopamine” in the brain, due to which the person feels temporary happiness, but gradually it becomes addiction. This tendency is especially dangerous among children and youth because it has a negative impact on their education, social life, and behavior. Therefore, it is important to play mobile games for a limited time and at the same time focus on maintaining physical and mental balance.

Major Diseases Caused By Playing Mobile Games And Their Effects

1. Digital Eye Strain: Constant mobile screen viewing leads to eye irritation, pain, blurred vision, and dryness. It is also called computer vision syndrome.

2. Insomnia: The habit of playing games overnight spoils the rhythm of sleep. Due to blue light, the brain remains active, due to which one cannot sleep and the body feels tired.

3. Stress & Anxiety:  Losing or not reaching high levels puts the player under mental pressure. This can lead to mood swings, irritability, and even depression.

4. Neck and Back Pain: Long bending mobile viewing puts pressure on the neck and spine, causing problems such as Tech Neck Syndrome.

5. Obesity and Fatigue: Body movements decrease during game play. Continuous sitting increases problems like weight gain, fatigue, and lethargy.

6. Addiction: Mobile gaming addiction is the most dangerous condition. A person starts finding it difficult to stay away from the game, which has a negative impact on his studies, work, and social life.

What Is The Harm Of Playing Games On Mobile?

Mobile gaming has many negative effects on our physical and mental health. Keeping your eyes fixed on the screen for a long time increases problems like eye pain, dryness (dry eyes), and vision loss. Neck and back pain becomes common due to continuous sitting, as the body does not get adequate rest and exercise. Besides, mobile gambling addiction (game addiction) also affects our mental health—it can cause problems like stress, anxiety, irritability, and insomnia (sleeplessness). Many times players become extremely emotional about losing or winning the game, which can also increase the problems of depression and anger. In children and young people, this habit creates a decrease in concentration and social distancing by diverting attention from studies. In this way, mobile gaming is fine if done for fun in a limited time, but it seriously harms all three of our health, time, and lifestyle when we are addicted to it.

Is Game Addiction A Disease?

1. Yes, game addiction (gaming addiction) is now treated as a mental illness (mental disorder).

2. The World Health Organization (WHO) has included it in its list of diseases (ICD-11) in 2018 as “Gaming Disorder.”

In illness, a person constantly feels a strong desire for mobile gaming, no matter how badly it affects his studies, work, sleep, or social life. A person suffering from gaming disorder starts feeling uneasy, irritable, lacking in attention, and stressed when he does not play games. Gradually this addiction also affects his mental health, relationships, and career.

How To Stop Yourself From Gaming?

The most important thing to prevent yourself from online gambling is to maintain self-control and balance. First of all, understand that playing too many games can harm your health, time, and studies/work. Set a specific time to play the game on your mobile or computer and then stay away from the device. If you have a high desire to play games, keep yourself busy with something else, such as taking a walk outside, talking to friends or family, or pursuing a new hobby. Gradually reduce game time so that addiction starts decreasing automatically.

Conclusion

Mobile gaming can be a means of entertainment, but its addiction can have a serious impact on our physical and mental health. Constant gameplay can lead to problems such as eye weakness, neck and back pain, insomnia, stress, and mental illnesses. This habit in children and youth also has a negative impact on studies and social life. Therefore, it is important to play online gaming for a limited time and in a balanced manner. If you want to protect yourself or your family from gaming addiction, it is extremely important to adopt deadlines, physical activity, and a busy lifestyle. Remember, health and life should be the priority instead of entertainment.
