Effect Of Technology On Birds

Cellular phones are very important for our lives, and so are cellular phone base stations. These are not just standing towers but a balloon of invisible electromagnetic fields, the radiation emanating from which is a constant threat to the life around them, especially to birds.

Description

Electromagnetic fields and radiation, which are not visible to the human eye, are present everywhere. There are many natural and human-made sources that produce electromagnetic fields in the surrounding air, such as television towers, radio towers, and cell phone towers. Among the disparate sources created by humans, cellular mobile base stations contribute most to spreading electromagnetic fields and radiation in the surrounding environment.

With the invention and reach of cell phones to every human being in almost every home around the world, the amount of invisible electromagnetic radiation in the atmosphere has increased significantly. Radiation from cellular mobile base stations is the same as radiation from mobile phones from the same system (GSM 900 or 1800); the only difference is that it is more powerful. GSM 900 mobile phones release radiation with frequencies between 890 and 915 MHz, while base stations release radiation between 935 and 960 MHz. Overall, the more powerful the field, the worse the impact of electromagnetic fields on life.

How Do Cell Towers Kill Birds?

It is believed that birds are sensitive to magnetic radiation. The increasing number of cell phone towers in cities seems to be reducing bird populations. Microwaves (300 MHz to 300 GHz) from cell phone towers and handsets have been found responsible for damaging the eggs and embryos of the hummingbirds.

Does Wi-Fi Kill Birds?

Electromagnetic radiation emanating from the world’s communication systems—including WiFi, 2G/3G/4G, and power lines—has now become a ‘serious threat’ to plants, insects, birds, and other animals, a new review shows. Buglife warns that it can hinder the direction-knowledge and movement of birds and insects and may have a bad effect on the metabolic health of plants.

Why Are All The Birds Dying?

The reason for this is not clear at all; some scientists believe that the factors of climate change are playing a role in this. Most birds are insect eaters and have been found to be weak and directionless, suggesting that there has been a shortage in food supplies. It is also being speculated that forest fires are affecting the lives of these birds.

How Can We Protect Birds From Radiation?

We should reduce cell phone use as much as possible. Prefer making only important calls, or at least greatly reducing the time you talk on your cell phone. Try talking through text messages instead of calling for less radiation.

Why Should We Save Birds?

They keep the climate stable, add oxygen to the air, and turn polluting elements into nutrients. Birds play an important role in the proper functioning of these systems. Since birds are high up in the food chain, they are also good indicators of the general state of our biodiversity. To maintain a healthy ecological balance on this earth, animals, plants, birds, and marine creatures are as important as humans. Every living being on this earth has a unique place in the food chain, which contributes to the ecosystem in its own special way. But, sadly, today many animals and birds are on the verge of extinction.

Conclusion

Cell phones are an important part of our lives for all types of communication. However, due to their excessive use and improving services, the diversity of fauna and the lives of individual birds in the region remain under constant threat. While cell phones cannot be completely removed from our lives, it is important that we find alternative technologies that keep wireless communications strong but do not harm the lives of these small creatures living around us. Do not pose any threat. Bird diversity is essential to maintaining plant diversity, and all researchers should begin trying to find alternative technologies for a safe environment.
