The biggest change ever is going to happen in the world of Artificial Intelligence. This can directly affect the jobs of office employees. According to a report by Wired, OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT, is preparing an advanced system. It will automatically be able to perform almost every daily office task more accurately and better than humans.
Training is being given from the data of real work of humans.
To prepare this model, OpenAI is using data from the real work of humans. The company has partnered with ‘Handshake AI’ company for this.
Under this, data of past and present office work is being collected from contractors of different professions. This will allow AI to learn how to complete tasks in the real world.
Openai Has Asked For Two Types Of Data From Contractors
- Task Request: An instruction given by a manager or co-worker asking for some work to be done.
- Task deliverable: The actual work produced in response to that instruction. This includes real documents such as Word files, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, Excel sheets or images.
The company has asked contractors to provide data on complex jobs that take hours or days to complete. OpenAI wants to see how well its trained new AI models can perform compared to humans.
The Company Has Also Taken Care Of Data Security
Contractors have been given strict instructions to remove ‘proprietary’ and ‘personally identifiable’ information before uploading the data.
AI Will Be Able To Work Better Than Humans
Many experts in the tech industry have warned that the increasing use of AI may create problems for ‘white collar jobs’ (office workers). The ultimate goal of OpenAI is to achieve ‘Artificial General Intelligence’ (AGI).
It Can Have The Biggest Impact On These 5 Sectors
Expert said – skills will have to be increased to survive
1. Make AI your partner: It is most important that you learn to use AI tools related to your field. If you are a writer then you should know how to use tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Grock properly. If you are a coder then you should have co-pilot and if you are a designer then you should have tools like Midjourney.
2. Focus on ‘soft skills’: AI can process data, but it can’t understand emotions. Team management, negotiation and leadership are qualities that every company will need. Only a human being can manage the team in difficult times.
3. Critical Thinking: AI sometimes gives wrong information. In such a situation ‘critical thinking’ is necessary. Checking the output of AI and adapting it to the needs of the company. Recognizing the problem and thinking of its unique solution will also keep you ahead of AI.
4. Continuous learning: Gone are those times when once you get a degree, you work for the rest of your life. Technology is changing every 6 months. Keep ‘upskilling’ yourself. Keep an eye on the changes happening in the industry. The more updated you are, the more usefulness will remain.
5. Content Writing and Basic Coding: Times may be tough for junior developers and basic content writers. Companies are currently getting the work done by a senior developer/writer and an entire team with the help of AI. AI will become better in the coming times.
6. Customer Support and Call Centres: Chatbots are now more ‘human’ than ever before. The way OpenAI is training on ‘real-world’ data, AI will now directly learn to understand and resolve customer complaints.
7. Legal and Paralegal Work: Reading legal documents, extracting important points from them and doing research has become easier for AI. For junior lawyers or researchers who deal with case studies and drafting, AI can do their hours of work in minutes.
8. Finance and Accounting: AI’s involvement is increasing in tasks like bookkeeping, tax calculation and auditing. Accounting firms are now using AI tools extensively. This is reducing the need for basic accountants.
