The inclination towards online games is increasing among the youth not only in India but all over the world. Which has emerged as a problem all over the world. In view of this, the World Health Organization (WHO) has announced a plan to include gaming disorder or gaming disorder as a mental health condition.
The World Health Organization has classified gaming disorder as a mental health problem. WHO (WHO) has given the definition of gaming disorder according to that a person with gaming disorder has shown the following symptoms for at least 12 months such as –

2. On the other hand, giving priority to playing games over other tasks, interests and activities.
3. Continuing to play games despite negative effects.
India’s online gaming industry is expected to be worth Rs 15500 crore by 2023 according to All India Gaming Federation data.
In 2019, India had the second highest number of players after South Korea in 2019 according to a figure.
Gaming disorder definitely causes physical and emotional damage. Along with this, social losses also occur.

Causes harm in career and social life.
One such news also came out due to gaming disorder. In which a person was found dead in the cafe after playing the game for three consecutive days. And many such reports have also come in research that due to the couple’s addiction to playing games, they had neglected their children.
According to a Delhi-based NGO called Distress Management Collective, online gaming can also cause financial crisis.
According to some reports, addiction to playing games has also been shown as a reason for moving from playing games to gambling. It finds 14-year-old becomes addicted to online games. He later becomes addicted to online card games in his early 20s. Financial claims are necessary in this.
1. The government needs to run awareness campaigns in collaboration with NGOs to spread the harm caused by game addiction to the masses. In which along with the help of information technology, awareness should also be spread at the grassroots level through street meetings etc.
2. Digital Fasting – Game addiction can be reduced to a great extent even by adopting the method of digital fasting among families. In this, it is done that a few days a week, there is minimal use of net, phone or other digital devices.
3. To overcome addiction while developing it, one should encourage one to find one’s skills and abilities and one should find such an activity. So that his skills not only develop but also provide him mental pleasure.
4. According to some reports, game addiction also creates obstacles in social or family relationships. So in such a situation, there is a great need for family members to participate to overcome the addiction.
5. To overcome gaming addiction, youth should decide to spend some time of the day in the field. In which he can talk to other people or play other games in the field.
6. At present it has emerged not as an individual problem but as a social problem. To solve this, the government, government and society will have to work together in an adjusted manner.
