ITEL India’s CEO Arijit Talpatra Interview: Said- Focus On Giving AI Features In Cheap Phones, Will Not Make Expensive Phones

Arijit Talpatra, CEO of ITEL (ITEL) India, a budget phone maker in India, said in a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar that the company is focusing on creating value for money products with AI. Not only this, the strategy of the company is to create an ecosystem brand.

1. How is ITEL incorporating AI-driving features in its smartphone and feature phone?

In today’s date, every company says that there is AI in the phone, but most consumers do not know what its use is. There are very few users who use AI assistants. Actually, AI is a habit, it has to be made. AI works like battery congestion, camera optimization, text generation. Its next phase is on call voice translation. Apart from this, we are also working with AI Cloud. In which there will be no need for memory later.

2. Will you bring mid-range and flagship phones in addition to budget phones in the Indian market?

In 2G and 4G feature phones we are the number-1 player with 32% market share. Even today, there is 220 million 2G customer base, so we are taking full care of that base. Apart from this, we are also focusing on 4G and 5G customer base. Even today, in the market of about 152 million, a market of about 34 million is a phone worth less than 10 thousand. Apart from this, 5 million 2G steps are increasing every month. According to this, there is a big space to play here. That is why we say that we are brands of India. We are brands of Tier-3 and below market. Our capability is that we can also make expensive and flagship phones, but our focus is on India’s growing consumer.

3. What are the top strategic priorities of ITEL, and what is the company doing separate in the industry?

There are two types of strategy in the market- the first penetrating, in which our goods are sold a lot, but the profit on every unit is slightly lower. Therefore, we work on a penetrating policy, so that our product can reach every house. If you keep in mind the customer, quality and rich, the consumer base can increase to a great extent. Therefore, we are currently working for mass consumer.

4. What are Customers Experiences and After Sale Service to improve?

We have more than 1,300 service centers. Apart from this, our service center consists of adecuate spare parts. Due to which we give the customer by fixing hand to hand phones. Either fix it in 24 hours. Apart from this, we are also providing the facility of one-time screen replacement for the A95 5G phone to the customer. Similarly, we are working on many cheese to provide better service to the customer.

5. Which factors have contributed in the leadership of ITEL’s feature phone market?

Our customer is also behind this success. We have a customer base of feature phones, 4G and 5G smartphones. We have a King Signal -like phone, whose network also comes in the middle of the sea. Apart from this, we also have phones like King Voice. Even today, there is a customer between 700 rupees and 2000 rupees, it is very difficult to buy expensive phones for that. This is the reason why the customer base of the feature phone is very high. Apart from this, the customer has a lot of confidence in ITEL.

6. What is the strategy about the company’s smart gadget, TV, home and personal care segment?

We are trying to create an ecosystem brand. In accessories, we have product range products ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 2,500. The biggest advantage of these products is the service center of ITEL. Service is the most difficult for brands in accessories. However, due to our quality and service, consumers buy our products. We also have products in mobile enhancing, audio, smartwatch, TV, home and personal care segment. Our ecosystem is a strategy to make brand, so that we can reach maximum value for money products to the customers.

7. What are the big upgrade in A95 5G and what are the expectations from the upcoming products?

Our company always makes consumer centric phones. A95 5G has also been launched at the same direction at a price of less than 10 thousand. This is a highly durable- water and dust-proof phone with IP-54. It has many AI features, which makes it a futuristic phone. The company makes the phone keeping in mind the Tier-3 and below customers. Our target audience is youth. We started with the feature phone. After this we made 4G smartphones. Then traveled from 4G smartphone to AI AI ANIBA 5G smartphone. More than 11 million customers have been associated with the company in this journey so far in India. Therefore, our company will continue to make Value for Money Products with AI for Kasmetors.
