If we understand this in simple language, then in the year 2002, the matter of Iran’s nuclear site came to the world, which perhaps it had been trying to hide for a long time.
Subsequently, by 2003, diplomats began to push hard to stop Iran’s nuclear program. After much persuasion from the world, Iran agreed and said that now it will work only for energy. But Iran kept throwing dust in the eyes of the world and continued its secret work.
The IAEA (International Nuclear Agency) reprimanded Iran in 2004 and claimed that it was hiding important information related to the nuclear program. Subsequently, in 2005, the IAEA again said that Iran was not following the rules and was doing nuclear-related work behind the scenes. In the same year the matter reached the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
In 2006, the UNSC passed Resolution 1696 against Iran, according to which the country was given the first legal order to stop uranium enrichment. The time that followed did not prove very good for Iran, as the UNSC began imposing several economic sanctions. Despite all this, Iran did not consider it necessary to stop its activities.
The period from 2011 to 2015 was quite challenging for Iran and its citizens. The country’s quasiarchy began to shake completely due to the economic embargo and fell by almost 20 percent. At the same time, many people were left with no work. According to the information, unemployment had increased to about 20 percent at that time.
In the year 2013, Hassan Rouhani promised the Iranians that he would get the economic sanctions imposed on the country lifted. Due to these promises, people made him the president by winning the elections. Iran’s negotiations with the US and P5+1 countries continued for the next two years thereafter. Let us tell you that the P5+1 countries include China, France, Germany, Russia, and the United Kingdom.
Let us tell you that many international agreements have also been signed regarding this matter. In the year 2015, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreement was signed. Under this agreement, Iran promised that it would limit nuclear work. In return, the economic sanctions imposed on him were removed. Iran had made this agreement with 6 strong countries, which included America, France, Russia, China, Britain, and Germany. It is known that this agreement was made for 10 years. The Yanni Agreement has officially expired on October 18, 2025.
The reason for tension between America, Israel, and Iran is the nuclear program. In fact, the US and Israel fear that Iran may make nuclear weapons through uranium enrichment (depleting uranium or increasing power). At the same time, Iran says that its program is completely peaceful. But America does not believe so. America is pressuring Iran to make a new nuclear deal.
