Chatgpt Down Due To Ghibli Trend: Users Could Not Access For About 1.5 Hours; Now Will Be Able To Generate Only 3 Images In A Day

OpenAI’s artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT went down worldwide on Sunday. ChatGPT went down due to excessive use of the new update Studio Ghibli image generator. In India, it was down from around 4 to 5.30 pm.

During this time, many complaints of outage were registered in Downdetector. Some users are still facing problems in using the platforms. OpenAI issued a statement at 4:40 pm on the problem of global outage and said that we are working to restore the services.

30 minutes later, OpenAI said that all services have been restored. The company will present the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) report in 5 days.

ChatGPT down due to Studio Ghibli trend

Studio Ghibli, the new update of GPT-4o, has become quite popular among users. The craze of Studio Ghibli trend was seen on social media among users. This suddenly increased the traffic on ChatGPT.

The demand for this feature was so high that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posted on X, ‘Please take a break in creating images, our team needs sleep’.

Now users will be able to generate only 3 images a day

Users with the free version of ChatGPT will now be able to generate only 3 images daily. Some restrictions may also apply to paid users, but OpenAI said that this is temporary. Altman said that there is a lot of pressure on the server due to the new image generator. He said our GPUs (graphics chips) are melting.

To avoid this, we are putting temporary limits on the image generator. Altman told the users that the team is engaged in increasing the server capacity and it will improve soon.

ChatGPT was publicly unveiled in 2022

OpenAI unveiled ChatGPT to the world in November 2022. This AI tool has gained popularity rapidly. From writing music and poetry to writing essays, ChatGPT can do a lot of things. It is a conversational AI. An artificial intelligence that answers you like humans.

Big tech companies like Microsoft have invested more than $13 billion in OpenAI. The company has also integrated ChatGPT in its search engine ‘Bing’. Many companies are also eager to use ChatGPT. In such a situation, the use of this AI-based chatbot is expected to spread even more in the coming days.
