Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Could Cost As High As $2500

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is making headlines with fresh expectations from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo warning of the phone’s specifications, looks, looks, and release timeline. The following is all we know so far:

Specifications and Features: KUO predicts the foldable iPhone to be a book-style device with a roughly 7.8-inch crease-free internal screen and a 5.5-inch external display. The hinge should be made of stainless steel and titanium alloy, while the casing should be made of titanium alloy to maintain durability as well as a design appeal. The phone will also include a dual-lens rear and front camera in both unfolded and folded states. Touch ID will be used via a side button as Face ID cannot be supported considering the thickness-related issue as well as space usage-related issue. 

It will also focus on cross-app features and multimode support. The bigger screen will offer a better overall user experience as it will be able to do multiple things at once, such as chatting with AI as well as viewing a map app, Kuo said.

Pricing and market positioning: The foldable iPhone will be in the high-end category and will be priced between $2,000 and $2,500, KUO additionally mentioned. Development schedule and production facts: Taken by KUO, Apple will design the specs of the foldable iPhone by Q2 2025 and begin development by Q3 2025. Volume production will be started in Q4, 2026, and estimates predict deliveries will be 3-5 million units a year.

The foldable second-generation iPhone, launching in Q2 2027, will push overall foldable iPhone shipments to 20 million units by 2027, KUO further said. However, the complexity of the first-generation model will dictate production volumes in its first several years.
