Google has named this new feature as ‘Agent Shopping’ Experience. Currently this feature is available only in America. Will be launched in India soon. Google has tied up with big retailers like Walmart, Target, Shopify in America for this.

Google has linked it to its payment gateway. As soon as you click on the ‘Buy’ button, a checkout window will open inside the app. This feature will use the information already saved in your Google Pay. The company is also going to add PayPal support to it soon.

The Retailer Will Be Responsible For Delivery And Service

Even if you are doing the transaction inside the Gemini app, Google will not be responsible for the delivery and service of the goods. For example, if you order an item from Walmart through Gemini, Walmart will handle all shipping, returns, and customer service. Google is just working as a platform or medium here.

Understand The Entire Shopping Process From Gemini

1. Search and selection: When you ask Gemini about a product, it will show you items from partner retailers like Walmart, Shopify, and Target.
2. Click on Buy button: If you like, you will see ‘Buy’ button inside the app itself. Shopping will start as soon as you click on it.
3. In-App Checkout: Pressing the button will open a payment window within the Gemini app. You will not need to go to any other website.
4. Payment through Google Pay: Gemini will use the information saved in your Google Pay for payment. With this, there will be no hassle of filling the card details again and again.
5. Order Confirmed: Your order will be booked as soon as payment is made. Shipping and delivery will be the responsibility of the retailer (e.g. Walmart) whose item you have selected.
6. Delivery Status: You can ask Gemini directly in chat, “Where’s my order?” or “When will the delivery take place?” Gemini will give you real-time status.
7. Retailer Update: Even if you purchased an item from Gemini, shipping is the responsibility of retailers like Walmart or Shopify. Therefore, when the order is packed or shipped, they will send you the tracking ID via email or message.
